JEFF HANSON
This saddle is built on a Wade tree and is adorned with full flower carving, using a 5-petal wild rose pattern integrated with a Carlos border. The saddlemaker has dyed and antiqued the carving and the interior of the solid seat has been decorated with swivel cuts. It has 7/8 flat plate rigging, an 8-button seat, pointed square skirts, half double stirrup leathers, a loop seat, buck rolls, a Guadalajara horn and Oregon cross over rope strap. The inside of the 6-inch bell-bottom stirrups are tooled. The engraved silver features were made by Jay Black, Starr Valley, Nevada.
JEFF HANSON, Saddlemaker, Monticello, Utah
Jeff Hanson grew up in eastern Montana on the Padlock Ranch, where he worked with his father. He then moved to northern Nevada where he buckarooed for over 25 years in the Elko, Eureka, Winnemucca and Gerlach areas. He worked with Elko saddlemaker Eddie Brooks for about 1 1/2 years, started making his own gear, and built his saddle business up from there.
