Play Your Hand at the Western Folklife Center

 

Game Night is Back on Wednesdays in August at the Pioneer Saloon

Elko – Beginning Wednesday, August 5th, the Western Folklife Center will host a weekly community event featuring the games people play. Play Your Hand will highlight games played in the various cultural communities of Elko, starting with Pinochle on August 5th. A different game will be taught every Wednesday night throughout the month of August, including Chinese Wei Qi (GO),  a Native American hand game, and the Basque card game Mus.

 

Play Your Hand is free, family-oriented and fun for all ages. It will take place in the Western Folklife Center’s Pioneer Saloon, 501 Railroad Street in Elko. Lessons begin at 6:00 pm and play starts at 7:00 pm. Mark your calendars for the following Play Your Hand dates:

August 5: Pinochle

August 12: Chinese Wei Qi (GO)

August 19: Native American Hand Game

August 25: Basque Card Game Mus
