The annual National Cowboy Poetry Gathering Elko County Student Art Exhibition features colorful and thoughtful works in mixed media, created by elementary and high school students in two venues: elementary art is on display on the walls of the Western Folklife Center's G Three Bar Theater, and photography is displayed in the Pioneer Hotel elevator lobby.  Stop by and enjoy the exhibition now through our extended date of April 9, 2013.

The Western Folklife Center hosted a Free Reception open to the public on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 for Elko County student artists. The community was welcome to attend, meet the artists, and celebrate the wonderful works presented.

Special thanks from the Western Folklife Center to the following organizations and people for generously providing funds for National Cowboy Poetry Gathering youth programs, including the Student Art Show: Barrick Gold of North America, the Bretzlaff Foundation, Newmont Mining Company, the Reno Rodeo Charitable Foundation, Nevada Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts and Wrangler, as well as many other businesses and organizations, aand the many generous individual donors who annually contribute to the Western Folklife Center’s Stakeholder Program for Youth Education.
