| Apply to Perform at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering |
The Western Folklife Center is always interested in learning about new artists as well as learning about new projects from old friends for the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Unlike most events, the artists invited to perform are selected by a committee of cowboy poets and musicians. If you would like to be considered for a National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, please submit your information following the guidelines below. Submissions have closed for our 30th Gathering, to be held January 27-February 1, 2014, so all submissions received will now be reviewed and held for the 2015 Gathering. Three poems that are representative of your repertoire. These poems can be written by you or someone else. Please Include:

If you perform both poetry and music: Please send in a separate submission for each category. Each submission will include a copy of your biography, short paragraph, and either poetry or songs as above. Note: The selection committee primarily reviews poetry and music submissions. If you are a portrayalist, storyteller, playwright or other artist, please follow the general rules above for submitting your work.
