Fiddlers' Pilgrimage: The Weiser Legacy

Photo courtesy of National Old Time Fiddlers' Contest and FestivalFiddlers' Pilgrimage: The Weiser Legacy, a tribute to the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest and Festival  featured a concert on May 10, 2013 in Boise, Idaho, and a companion radio documentary that aired on Boise State Public Radio on May 18 and on news station KBSX-FM 91.5 on May 19. The concert featured musicians and musical groups who have competed at and performed at Weiser, and the one-hour radio special goes behind the scenes of the contest, exploring the informal music-making that takes place in Weiser during fiddle week. All of the musicians featured at the concert are included in the radio show, plus many others.

Fiddlers' Pilgrimage was produced by Taki Telonidis and Hal Cannon of the Western Folklife Center and was made possible through the generous support of the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, with assistance from the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest and Festival. Additional support was provided by the Idaho Humanities Council, a state-based program of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and by Boise State Public Radio.
